Polythene is widely accepted as an effective and low-cost mulching material and is normally anchored by being buried along its edges.

Spun-bonded Polypropylene is water permeable, and unlike woven polypropylene its edges will not fray when cut, however it must not be allowed to flap.

Woven Polypropylene is probably the best photodegradable material we offer. It is water permeable, easily pegged and much stronger than either polythene or spun-bonded polypropylene
